Welcome to K is for Kelly.
You’ve landed somewhere between an almanac and someone’s most honest journal, and that’s intentional. If you don’t know where to start, start here.
Who This Is For
This site is for people whose views, questions, medications, interests, feelings, and strewn-about papers are also mixed. For people who like it hard — the thinking, that is. For people who’ve never wanted to limit themselves to one shelf in the bookstore and respect a writer who won’t either.
It’s for the person who wonders: does the story still make sense if you tell it daily rather than in 30-year chunks?
What’s Here
• Words & Language — how they work, what they carry, why moving one changes everything
• Process — what making things actually looks like, including the recursive and the stuck
• Narrative — first person, first draft, what it means to be the one telling your story
• Life stuff — authenticity, motherhood, teaching, money, culture, and the honest parts
• Body of Work — the meta-conversation about what it means to publish yourself
How to Read It
You can start with the most recent posts. You can use the category index. You can search for a word that’s on your mind. Or you can browse the archive like a library you’ve been meaning to explore.
Some of it is long. Some of it is one line. Hard to read and hard to read are not the same thing.
Where I’d Start
Read the About page if you want context. Or just pick a post that sounds like your kind of trouble and go from there. Either way — welcome to Kell.
“If you’re the gatekeeper of your own mind, then welcome to Kell.”
