I have so much to say about education in Texas. Because I can’t wait a second longer to say that the dismantling of public education in Texas has been facilitated by mediocre sell outs at every level– especially positions in education administration. I have an entire series… 19 years… every appraiser… every experience, catalogued like I do. The range of quality is disturbing. The range of quality over my 19 years? High marks even in the worst years. I feel qualified, justified, certified, and ready to explain to anyone why that is and how it matters to every current issue in education nationally, but especially in Texas.
Because I want so much more for education in Texas, it will be the work of the next phase I’ve started building. For now, I just delighted in one of the character sketches from my appraisal series. Enjoy.
One sold out like a low budget Texas wannabe.
Preaching. Writing. Wishing. Administration-ing. Posturing.
Lying to my face but getting flustered while doing it which is such a rookie move. Forgetting an undershirt beneath a dry-fit polo that has neither the thread count nor the tensile strength to sustain that publicly also rings amateur.
Let me go back to the bush league for a moment and explain. Effortful, dodgy gaslighting, poorly executed is the rookie move. It makes me want to yell ‘scene’ and give them a do-over. That is how much disdain I have for both of us having to live through their ineptitude at selling out. (More accurately they’ve already sold out; it’s embarrassing they forgot to play their role convincingly enough for me not to giggle.)
Fake it better, phony! Put down the mega-phony, too.
